With more than 58 years of machine-building experience, PDC systems are engineered for demanding production environments where reliability, precision and long-term performance matter. Our heavy-duty machines have earned a reputation as manufacturing workhorses, delivering consistent performance across food, beverage, dairy, personal care, household products and other industries. At **PACK EXPO Chicago, October 18–21**, visitors can see PDC equipment in action at **Booth N-4921**, including systems applying full-body shrink sleeve labels and tamper evident bands, along with both steam and hot-air shrink tunnels. Here’s a look at the equipment we’ll be showcasing. ### **F-Series Shrinkbander** **![](https://pdc-corp.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/F-Series-silo.jpg)** PDC[F-Series Shrinkbanders](https://pdc-corp.com/machines/f-series-shrinkbanders/) are designed to apply tamper evident bands to large-diameter tapered tubs and straight-walled containers. These systems are well suited for cultured dairy products, dried fruit, cookie tubs, ice cream, oatmeal and other packaged foods, as well as large-diameter jars used for products such as snacks and protein powders. A key feature of the F-Series is PDC’s band-support star wheel system. After application, each band rests positively and mechanically on the star wheel and is pre-shrunk while held in the correct position. This helps prevent the band from shifting as the container moves into the shrink tunnel, supporting consistent placement and finished appearance.   ### **R-250 High-Speed Shrinklabeler** ![](https://pdc-corp.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/PDC-R-250-ERT_HR-silo.png) For higher-speed shrink sleeve applications, PDC’s **R-250 Shrinklabeler** is designed for demanding beverage, food, dairy and industrial production environments. Part of PDC’s[R-Series Shrink Labeler](https://pdc-corp.com/machines/r-series-shrink-labelers/) family, the R-250 can apply shrink sleeves at high production speeds, depending on the specific configuration and application. Advanced servomotor sleeve-feed systems provide precise label registration and consistent application at production speeds. The R-Series utilizes PDC’s patented mandrel and rugged mechanical design. PDC’s proprietary cutting technology provides a heavy duty alternative to short lived spinning-knives, delivering dependable operation and long blade life. The R-150 is a versatile solution for a wide range of shrink sleeve labeling applications and can accommodate many product sizes and shapes, including round, oval and square containers. Like other R-Series machines, the R-150 uses PDC’s patented mandrel technology and rugged mechanical design to provide consistent sleeve application and dependable performance in demanding production environments. Proper shrinking is equally important. PDC’s **KST 55-712 single-zone steam tunnel** incorporates a pre-shrink feature at the tunnel entrance that helps anchor sleeves at the base of containers before the primary shrinking process begins. The tunnel incorporates 10 steam runs, with five rows of steam distribution tubes on each side. Each run can be externally adjusted for steam flow and angle, giving operators greater control over how steam is applied to the package. One of the KST 55-712’s biggest advantages is its **integrated compact steam boiler**. The boiler provides a fully plumbed steam tunnel system, eliminating the need to install a separate remote boiler and reducing the infrastructure, space and complexity traditionally associated with steam tunnel installations.
