Sales Engineer

PDC International Corp. is looking for an experienced Packaging Sales Engineer

PDC International, located in Norwalk, Connecticut, is a 54 year-old business that is an industry leader in manufacturing machinery for applying Heat Shrinkable Tamper-Evident Seals and Shrink Sleeve Labels worldwide to such customers as Kraft Foods, Unilever, Johnson and Johnson, Proctor & Gamble and Nestle to name a few.  PDC also fabricates Hot-Air and Steam Type Shrink Tunnels for these applications.

The Sales Engineer will work out of their home as their base operations, and will occasionally have to spend some time at PDC’s home offices in Connecticut.  The position will be required to engage in extensive travel (40%-50%) throughout the USA visiting existing and potential customers, as well as attending trade shows which may require weekend travel and work.

What we are looking for...

  • Sales professional with 5+ years’ experience selling packaging automated equipment living in the Midwest, Southeast or West Coast
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with customers, executive teams, engineers, plant personnel, line integrators and independent sales reps
  • Has worked with the Food, Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Dairy and Personal Care industries
  • Willingness to travel
  • Located near a major airport
  • Ability to create and maintain good relations with customers
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to communicate accurate project details internally to engineering
  • Routinely utilize company CRM (HubSpot)
  • Develop new business and maintain existing business in a given territory
  • Report on sales activities & follow-up for management
  • Have exceptional planning, strategic & negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to achieve sales goals

Compensation:

  • Salary based on experience (120k - 135k)
